Ending a series about the family distance I see with a fight scene is kind of funny, so it doesn’t sound tragic...
It’s a portrait of what I imagine boxing to be,
a dance with a cruel objective:
the knockout.
When I portray what I lived,
and what I wished for,
I now want to show the end of all possible outcomes,
a knockout.
A moment we don’t expect,
but the process eventually delivers.
It doesn’t matter if I had been much closer,
or much more distant,
I would still be complaining,
I could still be feeling pain,
I would still be me.
The most beautiful dance
is still the one we share with the people we love.
If we step on each other’s feet,
we apologize
and get ready for the next step.
Distance was like that,
a step on the foot.
I heard your apology,
and I’m ready to dance with you.
