[Inspiration]
This piece stems from my fascination with scrap houses: improvised architectures built from whatever materials are at hand, where resourcefulness replaces stability. It becomes an urban collage without rules or blueprints, shaped by survival and imagination. Only a peaked roof and two Balinese offerings reveal the location. In this hybrid structure, home and displacement intertwine, showing how identity is assembled from what we have —and from what is missing.
About the collection:
“TROPICALI” explores the shared pulse between the Caribbean and Bali through the lens of migration. As a Venezuelan artist shaped by displacement, the idea of home carries both tenderness and rupture. The tropical landscape becomes a bridge: familiar yet foreign, intimate yet mythic.
Each piece exists in two states: the still image and its hidden dimension, revealed through Augmented Reality. Collectors are invited to activate the AR layer on their phones to step into the parallel world behind the work.
Together, the physical and digital dimensions dissolve borders and reimagine what it means to find home across distant geographies.
